.SH DESCRIPTION
.B telnet
is a small and simple implementation of the client side of the TELNET protocol,
used to communicate interactively with another Internet or LAN host.

Once a connection has been opened, all
text typed is immediately sent to the remote host for processing.

A hung session may be terminated using the
.I escape
character, '^]' by default, which may be set via the 
.I -e
option. The new escape character may be specified as a single character optionally
preceded by a caret ('^'), which will be converted to the corresponding
 control character, as in '^A' becoming 'control-A' etc.

There is no adequate way for dealing with flow control.
