Token-gated classic board access with ANSI / CP437-first presentation, 80x24-friendly layouts, and direct support for SyncTERM-style terminals, retro telnet clients, and modern terminal emulators.

You are not signed in to XT-Emporium. Guests can still enter the BBS as guest, but redeeming a named-user token requires a website session.

Client notes

SyncTERM / Netrunner

Best fit for classic BBS presentation. Use ANSI/CP437 at 80x24 or 80x25 for proper box-drawing and art fidelity.

Modern terminals

Windows Terminal, PuTTY, xterm, tmux, screen, and Linux console clients work, with UTF-8 fallback for CP437 glyphs and ANSI status bars.

Retro systems

MS-DOS telnet stacks, older terminal packages, and minimal VT100-style clients still get a readable ASCII-safe path when color or CP437 is unavailable.

Security model

Named BBS logins now use one-time website-backed access codes instead of transmitting your XT-Emporium password over telnet. Guest sessions stay available for casual callers without privileged site access.

If a token expires, go back to the BBS login prompt and request a fresh one. Tokens are single-use and bound to one XT-Emporium username.
